БРИТАНСЬКА КОЛОНІАЛЬНА ПОЛІТИКА ВІКТОРІАНСЬКОЇ ЕПОХИ ТА МОЖЛИВОСТІ ВИСВІТЛЕННЯ ТЕМИ В ШКІЛЬНОМУ КУРСІ ІСТОРІЇ

Abstract

Метою роботи є висвітлення напрямків зовнішньої політики британської влади у 1837-1901 роках як процедура отримання всесвітнього економічного лідерства. Методологія дослідження. Під час дослідження використовувались загально логічні методи, а саме індукції та дедукції, аналізу та синтезу,порівняння, аналогії і узагальнення й спеціально історичні методи такі як історико - системний і історико-порівняльні методи . які допомогли деталізувати предмет і об’єкт дослідження;дослідити історичний аспект суспільних і політичних перетворень у колоніях Великої Британії за часів правління королеви Вікторії у всій багатогранності; виокремити загальні тенденції розгляду зазначеної теми у викладанні всесвітньої історії в загальноосвітніх закладах. Висновки. Політика Великобританії щодо її колоній в досліджуваний період будувалася в руслі загальної колоніальної політики. Відомо, що на рубежі XIX-XX століть, коли відбувалося встановлення англійського колоніального контролю над багатьма країнами, Британська імперія перебувала на етапі найбільшої могутності. Продовження експансії в той період було обумовлено і виправдовувалося переважно міркуваннями стратегічного плану, перш за все необхідністю встановлення британського контролю на шляхах, що ведуть до Британської Індії, і для її оборони. У міру відтискування Великобританії з позиції лідера індустріального світу, розширення колоніальних володінь почала розглядатися як одне з найважливіших засобів забезпечення динамічного економічного розвитку країни. Одночасно зросла роль військової сили як засобу захоплення нових колоній. The aim of the work is to highlight the directions of foreign policy of the British government in 1837-1901 as a procedure for obtaining world economic leadership. Research methodology. The study used general logical methods, namely induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, comparison, analogy and generalization, and specifically historical methods such as historical - systemic and historical-comparative methods. which helped to detail the subject and object of research, to explore the historical aspect of social and political transformations in the colonies of Great Britain during the reign of Queen Victoria in all its diversity; to highlight the general trends of consideration of this topic in the teaching of world history in secondary schools. Conclusions. The policy of Great Britain towards its colonies in the period under study was built in line with the general colonial policy. It is known that at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, when the establishment of British colonial control over many countries, the British Empire was at the stage of greatest power. The continuation of expansion at that time was due and justified mainly by the considerations of the strategic plan, primarily the need to establish British control on the roads leading to British India, and for its defense. As Britain pushed itself out of the position of leader of the industrial world, the expansion of colonial possessions began to be seen as one of the most important means of ensuring the dynamic economic development of the country. At the same time, the role of military force as a means of capturing new colonies increased.
