Item ANTHROPOGENIC TRANSFORMATION OF HYDROLOGICAL REGIME OF THE DNIEPER RIVER(2018) Pichura, V. I.; Malchykova, D. S.; Ukrainskij, P. A.; Shakhman, I. A.; Bystriantseva, A. N.; Мальчикова, Д. С.; Шахман, І. О.; Бистрянцева, А. М.Problems of rational water use and water quality assessment are the priorities of many states, especially in the basins of transboundary rivers. Creation and functioning of the cascade of Dnieper reservoirs led to a radical transformation of the hydrological regime of the Dnieper River. As a result, there occurred a significant deterioration of the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of surface water quality, increase of its trophic state, reduction of the efficiency and stability of the aquatic ecosystem of the Dnieper basin, which is largely determined by anthropogenic factors. As a result of interpretation the series of space images (August, 1986-2016) of the satellites Landsat- 5, Landsat- 7 and Landsat-8 with a spatial resolution of 30 meters, the spatio-temporal trend of changes in physical (water transparency), hydrochemical (general phosphorus concentration in water), biological (chlorophyll-a) properties of water areas of reservoirs was determined. In studies trophic state index developed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection was used to classify all types of water surface, including rivers. It is established that the value of trophic state index in reservoirs is distributed unevenly from 26.5 to 56.5. Continuous water eutrophication processes are intensified by the deterioration of self-purification of the river, lack of effective anti-erosion organization of areas, and climate change. Long strengthening of the eutrophication of the reservoirs of the Dnieper cascade contributes to the increase of the concentration of nutrients, predominance of blue-green algae phytoplankton, reduced transparency, increased content of organic matter, significant deterioration of the aquatic ecosystem and reduced biological productivity of the Dnieper River. The studies of the trophic state of the cascade of the Dnieper reservoirs are of high scientific and practical value for the identification of the consequences of a powerful anthropogenic influence on the hydroelectric system and the identification of problem aspects of their water areas and the further priority development of substantiated spatially adaptive complex and systematic environmental protection measures, enhancement of ecological sustainability, and gradual improvement of ecosystem of the Dnieper River basin.Item BYSTRIANTSEVA ASSESSMENT OF ECOLOGICAL STATE AND ECOLOGICAL RELIABILITY OF THE LOWER SECTION OF THE DNIEPER RIVER(2018) Shakhman, I. Self-purification potential and capability of restoration in time and space (along the river stream) of the aquatic ecosystem of the lower section of the Dnieper River was established. The method for assessing the quality of surface water by hydrochemical parameters in accordance with the fishery standards as the most sensitive to changes of the ecological state of the river was used. The current calculation method takes into account the effect of the total action of substances and is approved practically for the analysis of the ecological state of other rivers. It was discovered, that the state of surface water of region was characterized as unsteady with the low of ecological reliability. Consequently, the processes of self- purification potential and capability of restoration of the aquatic ecosystem are at the low level. The ecological state of the river is characterized as an ecological regress.Item ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH TO ASSESSMENT OF THE RESPONSE OF HYDROECOSYSTEMS TO ANTHROPOGENIC LOAD(2019) Shakhman, І. М.Assessment of the state of hydroecosystems and development of mechanisms for their rational use is one of the most important tasks of modern hydroecological research. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the water quality of the Lower Section of the Dnieper River (including the Lower Section of the Ingulets River) by different methods of determining the water quality of surface water bodies in accordance with fisheries standards, as being most sensitive to changes in the ecological state of the river, on the basis of monitoring over the years 2001–2016. Estimation of the quality of surface water within the Kherson region by different methods by hydrochemical parameters in accordance with the current standards of the quality of surface water resources was executed. It was found that by hydro-chemical parameters waters of the Lower Section of the Dnieper River are mostly “moderately contaminated” and “contaminated”, waters of the Lower Section of the Ingulets River are mostly “contaminated”, “very contaminated”, or “catastrophically contaminated”. Ecological state of the Lower Section of the Dnieper River and of the Lower Section of the Ingulets River was estimated by method of calculation of integrated index. The current calculation method takes into account the effect of the total action of substances and is approved practically for the analysis of the ecological state of other rivers. Self-purification potential and capability of restoration in time and space (along the river stream) of the aquatic ecosystem of the lower section of the Dnieper River and of the Lower Section of the Ingulets River were established. It was discovered, that the state of surface water of region was characterized as unsteady with the low of ecological reliability. The monograph highlights the application of mathematical models in the hydroecological problems research. The analysis of anthropogenic factors affecting change of quality of the Dnieper River surface water was used. Consequently, the processes of self-purification potential and capability of the aquatic ecosystems restoration are at the low level. The ecological state of the rivers is characterized as an ecological regress. It was established that for today it is connected with certain ecological risks to consider the basin of the Lower Section of the Dnieper River as a water object of fishery significance. Object of research: ecosystem with natural resources. Subject of research: GIS Based Model of Quotas Regulation and its Impact on the Extraction of Ecosystems’ Natural Resources and Social Welfare. Research methods: optimization methods, GIS methods, differential-equations method, marginal benefit-cost analysis. Results of the research: An example of mathematical model for determining of ecological equilibrium during sand extracting in the ecosystem is developed using Google Maps. The influence of economic activity due to sand extraction on fish fauna is described. The GIS based ecological-economic model is developed on the logistic model basis for establishing regional quotas for extraction of natural resources during economic activity in the South of Ukraine. Regulatory economic mechanism of natural environment is proposed. It implies such quota for sand extraction from water body, which does not lead to deterioration of the quality of the nature environment and stimulate of social welfare’s increasing.Item Impact of the Environmental Externalities and Technological Progress on the Stability of Economic System Development on the Example of the Ingulets River Basin(2020) Kobets, V.; Shakhman, І. М.Our study demonstrates the introduction of a market-based mechanism for environmental management in conditions of a shortage of natural (water) resources. The purpose of this paper is to investigate impact of the environmental externalities and technological progress on the stability of economic system development. We considered model of upstream and downstream firms with production negative externality, suppose producer pollutant and farm enterprise along Ingulets river using experimental data and OLS method. The results of the study and practical recommendations will allow participants of the technological process to respond quickly on changes in the state of the environment and make effective decisions aimed at ensuring the stability of the economic system and environmental safety. С.Our time is characterized by the phenomenal acceleration of knowledge accumulation and the complication of its structure. Today information technologies are one of main ways to arrange and create effective tools for organizing the interaction and processing large amount of information. Nowadays academic institutions need to rely on special research, analysis of accumulated achievements and, on this basis, to develop forecasts, identify trends and prospects for the development of a scientific or other industry, and evaluate its potential. Today many information systems attempt to create methods and technologies of processing and saving information on the activities of scientists. The article provides a brief overview of rating systems for scientometric indices of universities. In our opinion, information of university’s scientific activity should be presented in the rating form, which gives an opportunity to analyze development in different directions and changes. The key idea of the article is presenting of our experience in developing system of automatic construction of ratings of scientific organizations based on their scientometric indicators in Scopus, Google Scholar and Web of Science. The main task of the system is automatic construction of consolidated rating of scientists, research groups, and organizations according to indicators of processed scientometric systems (Scopus, Google Scholar and Web of Science). These indicators are h-index, citations (numbers of total citations of documents that are indexed by the system), total number of scientist’s publications. The philosophy of the system is providing open data of different scientometric systems, and possibility to deploy our system in other organizations and customize it for individual goals and tasks. Сьогодні інформаційні технології є одним з основних способів формування і створення ефективних інструментів для організування взаємодії та опрацювання великої кількості інформації. У наш час академічні установи повинні спиратися на спеціальні дослідження, аналіз накопичених досягнень і на цій основі розробляти прогнози, визначати тенденції та перспективи розвитку наукової чи іншої галузі й оцінити її потенціал. Сьогодні багато інформаційних систем намагаються створити методи і технології опрацювання та збереження інформації про діяльність учених. У статті наведено короткий огляд рейтингових систем для обліково-метричних показників закладів вищої освіти. На нашу думку, інформація про наукову діяльність університету повинна бути представлена у формі рейтингу, що дає можливість аналізувати розвиток у різних напрямах та змінах. Ключовою ідеєю статті є представлення нашого досвіду у створенні системи автоматичної побудови рейтингів наукових організацій на основі їх наукометричних показників у Scopus, Google Scholar та Web of Science. Філософія системи полягає у забезпеченні відкритих даних різних науково-вимірювальних систем, можливості розгортати її в інших організаціях та налаштовувати на індивідуальні цілі й завдання. Описано нові сервіси, що використовуються в системі. Розширено частину «Структура системи». У ній подано опис усіх вкладок сайту системи, приклад списку авторських публікацій, представлено використання семантичної мережі для відображення відносин між авторами. М.The ecological state of transboundary water of the Dniester River Basin was analyzed in the context of cross-border cooperation. The major objects of economic activity affecting the state of transboundary water were identified in the Dniester River Basin in Ukraine and Republic of Moldova. It was established that over the years of transboundary cooperation, a decrease in the average annual concentrations of Suspended solids, Nitrites, Chlorides and Sulfates below the maximum permissible values was achieved. The ecological state of the Dniester River transboundary water in time and space was investigated using an integral assessment of the state of the Dniester River water environment. It is recommended to assess the transboundary water ecological state using complex indices. An assessment of the ecological reliability of the Dniester River Basin transboundary water in 2020 was carried out. The research results show that the use of transboundary water of the Dniester River Basin is potentially dangerous. М.The article describes modern anthropogenic load on the surface water of the Southern Bug River Basin in a changing climate. The main water users-pollutants of the Southern Bug River Basin in Vinnytska and Mykolaivska regions were identified. The water quality of the surface water of the Southern Bug River in time and space (along the river stream) was analyzed. The water quality of the Southern Bug River was assessed by complex indices for different water users. In order to assess water quality, it is recommended to use complex indices that take into account the effect of the total action of pollutants. The self-purification potential and capability of restoration in space (along the river stream) of the aquatic ecosystem of the Southern Bug River was established for 2019. The results of the study allow us to state that the use of surface water of the Southern Bug River Basin for drinking, fishery, cultural and recreational needs is related to certain environmental risks. Це спонукає до відповідного вивчення вищої математики, викладання якої потрібно здійснювати не тільки на високому науково-методичному рівні, але й з використанням математичних задач і завдань прикладного характеру. The training of specialists in the environmental profile requires students not only the proper level of environmental knowledge, but also mathematical training, which should be supplemented by the tasks of applied direction.
