Стаття присвячена аналізу матеріалів, представлених у херсонській газеті «Юг», що виходила на початку ХХ ст. Зокрема, увага приділена питанням всесвітньої історії, що знайшли відображення на шпальтах видання. Завдяки публікаціям «Югу» херсонці мали змогу дізнаватися про найактуальніші світові події. The article is devoted to the analysis of the materials presented in the Kherson newspaper «South», published in the early twentieth century. In particular, attention is paid to issues of world history, which are reflected in the columns of the publication. Thanks to the publications of the «South», Kherson residents had the opportunity to learn about the most current world events.

ІНТЕЛІГЕНЦІЯ ПІВДНЯ УКРАЇНИ У СУСПІЛЬНО-ПОЛІТИЧНОМУ ЖИТТІ УСРР 1920-Х РР.

Висвітлено характерні риси становища інтелігенції Півдня УСРР у суспільно-політичному житті у період 1920-х років. Методологічні засади роботи становлять принципи історизму, об’єктивності та системності. У процесі проведеного дослідження нами були використані такі методи: загальнонаукові (класифікації, типологізації, описовий, структурно-системний), спеціальні наукові (історичний, хронологічний, порівняльний, проблемно-тематичний, ретроспективний) методи. У ході дослідження було з’ясовано, що фактично з другої половини ХІХ – початку ХХ ст., інтелігенція стала предметом наукової критики для багатьох суспільствознавців і природньо породила плюралізм думок. Визначені проблеми історії національної інтелігенції 1920-х рр. ХХ ст. в історіографії. Політика українізації допомагала поширити сфери функціонування української мови й підвищити рівень її престижності серед національних меншин. За часи сталінського тоталітарного режиму проти інтелігенції південних областей України, як і проти всього місцевого населення, були застосовані різні репресивні заходи які стали причиною значної кількості людських трагедій. Соціальне страхування було обумовлене непослідовною зміною підходів до його організації, яке здійснювалась як на страхових принципах, так і на принципах соціального забезпечення. The characteristic features of the position of the intelligentsia of the South of the USSR in the socio-political life in the period of the 1920s are highlighted. The methodological principles of the work are the principles of historicism, objectivity and systematics. In the course of the research we used the following methods: general scientific (classification, typology, descriptive, structural-systemic), special scientific (historical, chronological, comparative, problem-thematic, retrospective) methods. The study found that, in fact, from the second half of the nineteenth to the early twentieth century, the intelligentsia became the subject of scientific criticism for many social scientists and naturally gave rise to a pluralism of opinions. The problems of the history of the national intelligentsia of the 1920s of the XX century are determined. in historiography. The policy of Ukrainization helped to expand the scope of the Ukrainian language and increase its prestige among national minorities. During the Stalinist totalitarian regime, various repressive measures were applied against the intelligentsia of the southern regions of Ukraine, as well as against the entire local population, which caused a significant number of human tragedies. Social insurance was due to inconsistent changes in approaches to its organization, which was carried out both on insurance principles and on the principles of social security.
