У статті проаналізовано соціокультурні трансформації українського селянства в умовах модернізаційних процесів другої половини ХІХ - початку ХХ ст. Розглянуто вплив аграрних перетворень, промислового зростання, міграцій, освіти та просвітницьких інституцій на побут, культуру, соціальну структуру й національну ідентичність селян. Узагальнено, що селяни виступали не лише об’єктом реформ, а й активними агентами модернізації й національного відродження; їхні практики й інститути (кооперативи, читальні, церкви) стали містком між традицією і новим соціокультурним порядком. The article examines socio-cultural transformations of the Ukrainian peasantry during the modernization processes of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It analyzes the impact of agrarian reforms, industrial growth, migration, education and cultural institutions on peasants’ everyday life, social structure and national identity. The study concludes that peasants were not only objects but also agents of modernization and national revival; institutions such as cooperatives, reading societies and churches served as bridges between tradition and modernity.

Магістерська робота присвячена комплексному дослідженню соціокультурних змін, що відбувалися серед українського селянства в умовах модернізації другої половини ХІХ – початку ХХ ст. У праці проаналізовано вплив аграрних реформ, розвитку освіти, урбанізаційних процесів і суспільних перетворень на трансформацію традиційного сільського укладу. Особливу увагу приділено ролі культури, побуту, родинних відносин і духовних цінностей у формуванні нових соціальних орієнтирів. Розглянуто питання збереження національної ідентичності та адаптації селян до модерних умов життя. Результати дослідження розкривають значення українського селянства як активного учасника модернізаційних процесів, що стали основою становлення модерної української нації. The master’s thesis provides a comprehensive study of the socio-cultural transformations within the Ukrainian peasantry during the modernization processes of the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The research analyzes the impact of agrarian reforms, the development of education, urbanization, and social changes on the transformation of traditional rural life. Particular attention is paid to the role of culture, everyday life, family relations, and spiritual values in shaping new social orientations. The study also considers the preservation of national identity and adaptation of peasants to modern living conditions. The findings reveal the importance of the Ukrainian peasantry as an active participant in modernization processes that laid the foundation for the formation of the modern Ukrainian nation.
