    Робота присвячена дослідженню становлення путівника як жанру туристичного дискурсу. Вивчається путівник з позиції лінгвістики і лінгвокультурології, сформування уявлення про типологічні параметри, змістовному наповненні, мовних характеристиках і прагматичному потенціалі автентичного путівника як типу тексту і культурно значимого феномена. У цій роботі виділені основні типи англомовного путівника і проаналізовані їх структура і композиція. The work is devoted to the study of the formation of the guide as a genre of tourist discourse. The guide is studied from the standpoint of linguistics and linguoculturology, the formation of ideas about typological parameters, content, language characteristics and pragmatic potential of the authentic guide as a type of text and culturally significant phenomenon. This work identifies the main types of English-language guide and analyzes their structure and composition.
