    Хімія гетероциклічних сполук є однією з провідних галузей органічної хімії. Гетероцикли володіють високою та специфічною реакційною здатністю, а також здатні виявляти біологічну активність. Дослідження 1,4-дигідропіридинів (1,4-ДГП) представляє особливий інтерес у фармацевтичній галузі через їх важливе застосування як антагоністів кальцієвих каналів для лікування серцевих захворювань. 1,4-ДГП здатні впливати на серцево-судинну систему та використовуються для лікування гіпертонічної хвороби, ракових захворювань і володіють антипаразитними та антиоксидантними властивостями.
