    У роботі розкривається зміст особливостей зв’язного мовлення у дошкільників із затримкою психічного розвитку. Вказані причини порушення мовлення даної категорії дітей, процес розвитку мовлення та психолого-педагогічні характеристики цих дітей; обґрунтування сучасної класифікації дітей старшого дошкільного віку із затримкою психічного розвитку; здійснено вивчення проблематики особливостей формування зв’язного мовлення у дітей старшого дошкільного віку із затримкою психічного розвитку засобами сюжетних картин; досліджено рівень сформованості зв’язного мовлення у дітей старшого дошкільного віку із затримкою психічного розвитку; представлено методичні рекомендації щодо формування зв'язного мовлення у старших дошкільнят із затримкою психічного розвитку використанням сюжетних картин.The work reveals the content of the features of coherent speech in preschoolers with mental retardation. The causes of speech disorders of this category of children, the process of speech development and psychological and pedagogical characteristics of these children are indicated; substantiation of the modern classification of children of older preschool age with mental retardation the study of the problems of the peculiarities of the formation of coherent speech in children of older preschool age with a delay in mental development by means of story pictures was carried out; the level of formation of coherent speech in older preschool children with mental retardation was investigated; methodical recommendations on the formation of coherent speech in older preschoolers with mental retardation using story pictures are presented.

Вказані причини порушення мовлення даної категорії дітей, процес розвитку мовлення та психолого- педагогічні характеристики цих дітей. The article reveals the replacement of the peculiarities of coherent thinking in preschoolers with the delay in mental development. The reasons for the disruption of mentality of this category of children, the process of development of mentality and the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of these children are indicated.
