The article examines the concept of gender and gender equality, explains the concepts of «man» and «woman» and their role as individuals. Several options for defining the concept of «gender» and its aspects are offered.

    У роботі обґрунтувано поняття «гендер», «гендерний стереотип», подано результати досліджень щодо гендерного аспекту лексики у творах Марії Матіос, проаналізовано мовне відтворення стереотипних суджень щодо чоловіка й жінки в романах «Солодка Даруся» та «Черевички Божої Матері». The work substantiates the concepts of "gender", "gender stereotype", presents the results of research on the gender aspect of vocabulary in the works of Maria Matios, analyzes the linguistic reproduction of stereotypical judgments about men and women in the novels "Solodka Darusia" and "The Shoes of the Mother of God".
