The qualification work is aimed at studying the influence of metaphor on the formation of a person's stress resistance in conditions of constant stressful situations. Based on an empirical study conducted on participants whose lives were under threat, the features of the manifestation of emotional state, mood swings, and feelings of anxiety were analyzed. A psychocorrectional program was developed and tested, which helped reduce the stress level of the participants. The mechanism of stress resistance formation as an important component for the survival of the individual and the need to adapt to the conditions of being in the constant stress factor of modern society is presented; examples of exercises and techniques are given that are appropriate to use both in individual consultations and in group therapy.
