    В роботі розглянуто основні положення, що стосуються проблеми континууму в теорії множин, яку в свій час висунув Кантор у вигляді гіпотези про те, що не існує множини, потужність якої була б проміжною між потужністю зчисленної множини та потужністю континууму. The paper considers the main provisions concerning the problem of continuum in set theory, which was once put forward by Cantor in the form of the hypothesis that there is no set whose power would be intermediate between the power of the calculated set and the power of the continuum.

Виділено основні характеристики, твердження та роз’яснення методу площ. / The paper is devoted to the study and analysis of various geometric methods for solving problems. The disadvantages of geometric methods in the school year are considered. The main characteristics, statements and explanations of the area method are highlighted.
