    Applied Aspects of Instrumental Digital Didactics: M-learning with the Use of Smartphone Sensors

    According to the concept of the new Ukrainian school, the educa- tional process is undergoing intense changes. This is partly due to the active implementation of a variety of information and communication technologies and mobile equipment. The article discusses the methods of use of mobile ap- plications for physics study. Foreign and Ukrainian experience of using infor- mation-technological and technical capabilities of mobile devices for educa- tional purposes is analyzed. The classification of mobile applications is pro- posed; methodological advantages and disadvantages of their use in the educa- tional process are defined. Mobile applications are an important part of the digi- tal didactics tools. Features of innovative teaching methods based on the use of the measuring, computing, and modeling functions of the sensitive elements of gadgets are revealed. It has been shown that the use of sensors in the teaching of physics is a kind of instrumental digital didactics. Besides, an example of ap- plication the Physics Toolbox Suite to perform a research on the topic Mechan- ics is described in the article.

    Development of an Electronic Multimedia Interactive Textbook for Physics Study at Technical Universities

    The article reveals the problem of creating and improving e- textbooks on the example of development of electronic textbook for physics study at technical universities. The disadvantages of e-textbooks based on standard platforms and templates are considered. The problems of using Web technologies for the improvement of such textbooks are discussed. There are numerous platforms and templates for creating electronic textbooks. However, our analysis and experience with such resources showed their inconvenience and inadequacy for the needs of the engineering specialties education because corresponding texts have a large volume, complex structure, contain multilevel cross-content focused both on understanding the fundamental laws and their technical and technological application during engineering activities. Therefore, students find it difficult to navigate in a large amount of material, many equa- tions, massive evidence base, and large graphic material. The presented e-book configuration is created by JavaScript direct pro- gramming. The e-book significantly expands the visibility of the material (color accented graphics, videos, animation, etc.), improves usability (thoughtful intui- tive navigation, one-click equations, tips, etc.) using the capabilities of comput- er technology. It contains a variety of original demo animation, videos, and col- or drawings worked out to the smallest detail. Many convenient hyperlinks are available at the click (pop-up equations, tips, help and additional information). The e-book also optimizes the student’s independent work (examples of de- tailed step-by-step solution of problems, questions for self-testing with hidden answers, etc.). The e-book is offered to students of all technical specialties and all forms of university education. The application of this e-book involves ac- quiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills in physics.

    Virtual educational physics experiment as a means of formation of the scientific worldview of the pupils

    An important component of the general aim of secondary education is the formation of a scientific worldview of the youth; it is based on empirical and theoretical knowledge about the world as a whole. The most fundamental laws and principles of nature compose a comprehensive physics picture of the world. An important part of formation of the picture in the pupils’ minds is experimental verification of the fundamental laws of nature. The analysis of a significant number of currently available in the domestic market physics-based software products has shown that they are presented in the form of electronic tutorials, electronic libraries, and various virtual physics laboratories designed to study models of physics processes or phenomena. The authors prove the definition of virtual educational physics experiment (VEPE) as a kind of educational physics experiment that is carried out using digital models of phenomena and processes, multimedia, interactive animations, and simulations. In accordance with the didactic aim, the VEPE is divided into demonstration and laboratory. Application of the VEPE during the study of molecular physics shows the suitability of its using for a new material explaining, the knowledge updating, and determination of the degree of formation of the pupils’ subject competence. The conclusion about necessity of the search of optimal forms and methods for integrating real and virtual experiments is made by the authors; the integration will promote both the visibility and accessibility of material perception and the development of the pupils’ creative abilities and various forms of thinking.

    У статті розглянуто особливості використання віртуального експерименту під час вивчення фізики. Зроблено висновок про необхідність пошуку оптимальних форм і методів інтеграції реального та віртуального експериментів, що сприятиме як наочності та доступності сприйняття матеріалу, так і розвитку творчих здібностей та різноманітних форм мислення. В статье рассмотрены особенности использования виртуального эксперимента при изучении физики. Сделан вывод о необходимости поиска оптимальных форм и методов интеграции реального и виртуального экспериментов, будет способствовать как наглядности и доступности восприятия материала, так и развития творческих способностей и различных форм мышления.
