PHILOSOPHICAL AND ANTHROPOLOGICAL VISION OF THE IDEA OF SPIRITUALITY IN ISAAC ASIMOV’S FOUNDATION TRILOGY

The article is a philosophical and anthropological representation of the idea of spirituality in The Foundation Trilogy by the American science fiction writer, philosopher, populariser of science Isaac Asimov. The oretical basis. The study is based on an understanding of the worldview imperatives of Asimov’s work, which high light his philosophical and anthropological vision of spirituality as a historically established property of a rationally organised society and a key condition for its progressive evolution. The emergence, stochasticity and eventuality of the development of the modern global society brings the content of A. Azimov’s philosophical and anthropological ideas to a fundamentally new level of understanding of the further development of humanity. Asimov’s articulation of the idea of spirituality in The Foundation Trilogy allows us to define the philosophical and anthropological con cept of the writer in the fullness of its social, philosophical, existential and axiological dimensions. Originality. The authors have substantiated the expediency and relevance of considering the idea of spirituality in A. Asimov’s Foundation trilogy in the semantic field of philosophical anthropology. It is shown that Asimov’s philosophical an thropology has a clearly expressed teleological "load". In the writer’s interpretation, a person of the future is not a "posthuman" with a biological nature altered by special technologies, but a person focused on spiritual development and self-improvement based on the eternal values enshrined in the mental code of Homo sapiens – happiness, love, freedom, dignity, independence, patriotism. Conclusions. Foundation is a multifaceted work, rich in plot, composi tionally mosaic and polyphonic, in which, at first glance, it is difficult to identify any dominant idea. In the course of the study, it was found that one of the main content centres in A. Asimov’s works is the philosophical and anthropo logical discourse, in the space of which considerable attention is paid to human spirituality
Rhetorical argumentation in modern public speaking

This research addresses modern tendencies in rhetorical argumentation. The theoretical rationale of the study lies in the different approaches to studying the forms of arguments and their content. The study showed that the compositional perfection of argumentation can be successfully implemented where sequential deployment of the logical arguments and emotional reasoning achieve such goals as audience acquisition, acceptance and planned response. The argumentative system chosen allows for distinguishing the contemporary aspects of persuasive strategies in public appearance. To obtain an understanding of recent trends in argumentation, an analysis was performed of political speeches delivered by the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Ukraine and the United States during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (September 15, 2015). As a result of this inquiry into the rhetorical discourse we tried to facilitate students’ learning of argumentation, to develop their ability to critically analyse sample texts, to give them to understand what arguments and reasoning are more preferable. With the methodology of cliché (sample text) replenishment, we describe a way to engage students in studying rhetorical discourse, help them to develop the ability to analyse modern argumentation critically in the real-world contexts.
The Effects of Persuasive Speech Workshops on Student Activities

The effective speaking is provided by Rhetoric, a science addresses the human capacity to create and articulate knowledge grounded on the principles of argumentation. The research addresses the effects of argumentative practices on the quality improvement of the student activities. The theoretical rationale of the study lies in different approaches to studying argumentation, its schemes, content and relationship with discourse quality. The study shows that the compositional perfection of argumentation can be successfully implemented where sequential deployment of the logical premises and emotional reasoning embodying in active persuasive semantic (or material) relations achieve the goals of audience acquisition, acceptance and planned response. The argumentative scheme chosen allows for distinguishing the contemporary aspects of persuasive strategies in public appearance. To obtain an understanding of recent trends in argumentation, an analysis was performed of political speeches delivered by the presidents during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (September 15, 2015). As a result of this inquiry into the rhetorical discourse, we tried to facilitate the Persuasive Speech Workshops. Our research confirmed that the absolute majority of students tend to present information clearly, accurately, and convincingly. It necessitated the implementation of rhetorical trainings, which would teach to influence effectively and resolve conflicts without going head-to-head. The workshop idea was based on mastering effective communication through developing argumentation skills for empowering proactive educated member of society. It is also intended to improve public speaking as a means of drawing students’ attention to civic activities. 10 workshops were conducted. The overall purpose of the study was to emphasize the urgency of rhetorical principles in becoming a leader. Due to argumentative practice, students also acquired an additional mechanism of self-awareness, which serves as an effective and practicable adjustments. The results unequivocally confirmed the persuasive speech workshop as an effective strategy for developing rhetorical knowledge and skills in order to engage contemporaries in building a harmonized atmosphere in academic and non-academic collaboration.
ПРАКТИЧНІ МЕХАНІЗМИ ПРОДУКУВАННЯ ЕТИЧНО ДІЄВОГО РИТОРИЧНОГО ДИСКУРСУ НА УРОКАХ МОВИ В ОСНОВНІЙ ШКОЛІ

У статті з’ясовується зміст і значення етичного спілкування у процесі становлення ідеальної риторичної особистості. У дослідженні визначено сутнісні елементи риторичного дискурсу (предмет, продукт, засоби реалізації), подано змістовні характеристики етичності публічної промови, проаналізовано аспекти продукування етично дієвого риторичного дискурсу. Також детально висвітлено основні характеристики професіограми сучасного оратора, що, на думку автора, є важливим елементом у підготовці риторичної особистості, запропоновано прийоми навчання етично дієвому дискурсу на уроках мови в основній школі. Сегодня в обществе существует потребность в овладении универсальными законами создания этически действенного риторического дискурса для гармонизации динамики в общении. Цель данной статьи – рассмотреть теоретические основы создания риторического дискурса и обозначить практические механизмы продуцирования этически действенного риторического дискурса. Проведенный анализ риторических исследований подтверждает, что этическая действенность достигается при условиях: 1) опоры говорящего на моральные нормы и духовные ценности; 2) приспособления дискурса к ожиданиям адресата на основе анализа состава аудитории; 3) ориентации говорящего на идеал риторической культуры; 4) гармонизации общения посредством создания и утверждения примата этичности речевого взаимодействия. Nowadays Rhetoric studies the relationships between the thought and the word and offers the effective methods of transformation the information into persuasive discourse. Today’s society needs to know the universal rules of creating ethical effectiveness in rhetorical discourse for harmonization in the process of communication. The main aim of the article is to look through the theoretical basis of rhetorical discourse generation and emphasize the conditions in which the discourse is considered to be ethical and effective. Rhetorical discourse includes some key concepts of main rhetorical qualities. Ethical effectiveness consists of the ethical correctness and ethical negotiability. The ethical correctness deals with moral standards of a good speaker. The ethical negotiability is based on the analysis of the audience and determines the speaker position and the behavior in further speech. Analysis carried out on the rhetoric researches proves that ethical effectiveness can be reached in such cases: 1) speaker’s great attention to moral standards and spiritual values; 2) discourse arrangement due to audience expectations on the basis of audience structure; 3) speaker’s orientation to the ideal of rhetoric culture; 4) harmonization in the process of communication with the help of creation and approval the primacy of ethicality in speech conversation. Such conversation is possible in the condition of relevant using of speech ethical forms, ethical formulas, euphemisms, ethical argument, direct and indirect forms of influence on the audience. However it could be noted that Rhetoric offers the efficient strategies and tactics of speech behavior which can develop the skills of everyone to carry responsibility for ethics in public speaking.
ПСИХОЛОГО-ПЕДАГОГИЧЕСКИЕ ПРЕДПОСЫЛКИ ФОРМИРОВАНИЯ РИТОРИЧЕСКИХ УМЕНИЙ УЧАЩИХСЯ ОСНОВНОЙ ШКОЛЫ

В статье рассмотрены внутренние и внешние аспекты психологии развития личности, участвующие в процессе формирования риторических умений, определен уровень сензитивности учащихся основной школы к риторической деятельности, дана характеристика основных психолого-педагогических предпосылок формирования риторических умений в соответствии с группами интересов подростка («доминантами»). Обоснована значимость процесса формирования риторических умений в сензитивный период становления личности. У статті розглядаються внутрішні і зовнішні аспекти психології розвитку особистості у процесі формування риторичних умінь, виявлено рівень сензитивності учнів основної школи до ведення такого роду діяльності, надається характеристика основних психологічних передумов формування риторичних умінь відповідно до чотирьох груп інтересів («домінантів») підлітків. The article deals with the internal and external aspects of psychology of individual development in the process of the rhetorical skills development; the secondary school pupils’ sensitivity to the rhetorical activity is defined in the article too; the psychological premises of rhetorical skills development according to four groups of adolescence’s interests (“dominants”) are characterized. The article is dedicated to the analysis of the psychological activity of the adolescences according to their interests (“dominants”) and to the importance of rhetorical activity in this sensitivity period for the individual development. It’s considered that rhetorical activity allows arranging the psychophysiological processes, such as: positive influence on pupils’ intention to self-evaluation and self-identification, faster self-identification with the help of interiorization, better development of discipline and independent training, efforts to use the “proper” words expressing the feelings and emotions.
РИТОРИЧНИЙ АСПЕКТ У ЗМІСТІ ПОЛІКУЛЬТУРНОГО ОСВІТНЬОГО ПРОСТОРУ

Сучасне суспільство відчуває потребу в полікультурно грамотній особистості. Виховання такої особистості найбільш ефективне в умовах полікультурного освітнього простору. Зміст вказаної системи навчання потребує якісного наповнення. Наука, що володіє універсальними законами створення етично правильного дискурсу для гармонізації динаміки спілкування, є риторика. Саме ця метапредметна інтегруюча дисципліна пропонує механізми розвитку етичної культури поведінки та сприяє соціалізації особистості. Современное общество чувствует потребность в поликультурно грамотной личности. Воспитание такой личности наиболее эффективно в условиях поликультурного образовательного пространства. Содержание подобного пространства требует качественного наполнения. Наукой, владеющей универсальными законами создания этически правильного дискурса для гармонизации динамики в общении, является риторика. Эта метапредметная интегрирующая дисциплина предлагает механизмы развития этической культуры речевого поведения и способствует социализации личности. Modern society needs tolerant, polyculturally intelligent people. Education of such people is more successful in special space of polycultural education. The content of such educational system has got appropriate academic material. The part of such material is the rhetorical laws of creating ethic discourse for dialogue harmonization.
РОЛЬ РИТОРИЧНОЇ ДІЯЛЬНОСТІ У РОЗВИТКУ МЕТАКОГНІТИВНОЇ КОМПЕТЕНТНОСТІ СТУДЕНТІВ

В умовах сучасної вищої освіти, що пропонує самостійність у виборі форм й методів отримання знань, особливо важливим є розвиток метакогнітивної компетентності, що забезпечує активізацію процесів пізнання, самопізнання, саморефлексії, системи регуляції поведінки чим однозначно покращує показники академічного й професійного зростання студентів. Розвиток метакогнітивної компетентності включає етапи добору й обробки інформації, активної передачі змісту, критичного самоаналізу. Але дієві механізми ефективного формування вказаної компетентності недостатньо досліджені. Вочевидь, процеси пізнання, самопізнання відіграють визначну роль у формуванні мисленнєво-мовленнєвої (риторичної) діяльності. Пряма взаємозалежність між становленням метакогнітивної компетентності й активізацією риторичної діяльності актуалізує введення відповідних педагогічних технологій в освітній процес. У статті подано результати дослідження, спрямованого на визначення ролі риторичної діяльності у розвитку метакогнітівної компетентності студентів. Розглянуто поняття метакогніції, метакогнітивної стратегії, метакогнітивної компетентності, подано перелік основних метакогнітивних умінь й навичок. Під час роботи визначено взаємозв’язок між розвитком процесів пізнання й активізацією риторичної діяльності. Розкрито роль риторичної діяльності у психологічному формуванні особистості, у здатності людини якісно управляти психофізіологічними процесами. Запропоновано педагогічні технології розвитку метакогнітивної компетентності засобами риторичної діяльності. Серед таких технологій детально описано евристичну бесіду, риторичне есе, після письмовий й супутній нариси, пам’ятку викладачеві від студента, портфоліо. У процесі дослідження визначено специфіку, основні переваги та недоліки кожної технології, окреслено потенціал у підвищенні комунікативного рівня мислення студента. Результатом теоретичного пошуку стало проведення пілотажного дослідження. Підсумки експерименту засвідчили якісний вплив риторичної діяльності на розвиток метакогнітивної компетентності студентів. Nowadays the higher education offers students the ability to make independent choices among different forms and methods of acquiring knowledge that’s why the development of metacognitive competence becomes especially important. The mechanisms for such competence development have not been sufficiently studied. It is obvious that the processes of cognition, self-knowledge, self-awareness are closely related to “thought and speech” (rhetorical) activity. There is the direct interdependence between metacognitive growth and the rhetorical strategies employing. It raises the issues about introducing appropriate effective teaching strategies in the education process. The article adresses the results of the study aimed at determining the role of rhetorical activity in the development of metacognitive competence among students. The concepts of metacognition, metacognitive competence are considered, the main metacognitive skills and abilities are listed. In the process of working it was established and determined a link between the development of cognitive processes and rhetorical activity growing. It was also revealed the essential role of rhetorical activities in personality psychological development. We concisely characterized the effective teaching strategies that improve rhetorical abilities for metacognitive competence development. The teaching strategies that were considered involve a heuristic conversation, a rhetorical essay, a postwrite brief, postwrites, companion pieces, a student-teacher memo, and a portfolio. In the course of the pilot experiment we used the portfolio strategy to engage the experimental group of 4th year students in rhetorical activities. From our analysis of the experiment we confirmed the qualitative influence of rhetorical activity on the development of students' metacognitive abilities.
УМОВИ ДОСЯГНЕННЯ ТОЧНОСТІ РИТОРИЧНОГО ДИСКУРСУ

У статті проаналізовано умови досягнення точності риторичного дискурсу; визначено особливості жанрово-стильової градації тексту промови; запропоновано основні прийоми навчання точному переконливому мовленню. В статье проанализированы условия достижения точности риторического дискурса; описана специфика жанрово-стилевой градации текста выступления; предложены основные приемы обучения точной персуазивной речи. The conditions of reaching accuracy of rhetorical discourse are analyzed in the article; the specificity of the rhetorical discourse genre and style diversity is found out; the main training techniques to make the speech distinct and persuasive are proposed too.

Сучасна людина відчуває потребу в оволодінні теоретичними риторичними знаннями з метою успішного використання їх у діловому й повсякденному спілкуванні. Саме риторика пропонує ефективні методи обробки інформації для використання її у риторичному (персуазивному, умотивованому, промовистому) дискурсі. Прогнозованість реакції аудиторії під час продукування дискурсу безпосередньо залежить від етичності промови. Існуючі теоретичні дослідження та практичні поради щодо реалізації ефективного етичного впливу на аудиторію не мають єдиної концепції, яка забезпечує комплексну підготовку промовця. Тому вважаємо за необхідне досконально вивчити, дослідити умови за яких дискурс вважають етично дієвим, запропонувати механізми продуктивного навчання переконливому етичному мовленню. Так, функціонування етично дієвого риторичного дискурсу передбачає дотримання учасниками спілкування моральних норм поведінки, прагнення промовця до взірцевих якостей ідеального образу ритора, вибір позиції оратора, його подальшої стратегії мовленнєвої поведінки з опорою на кількісний та якісний аналіз аудиторії.
