Статья посвящена изучению опыта географических и общественных исследований процесса урбанизации. Выделены наиболее популярные научные концепции ХХ в. Рассмотрены основные содержательные аспекты урбанизации как социально-географического процесса. Указано на важность современных исследований в контексте антропоцентрического понимания
феномена урбанизации. The article is devoted to study the experience of geographical and social researches of the urbanization process. The most popular scientific concepts of the twentieth century were highlighted. The main substantive aspects of urbanization as a socio-geographical process are considered. It was indicated on the importance of current research in the context of the anthropocentric understanding of the phenomenon of urbanization.
