Item “THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO AHASUERUS”: APOCRYPHAL DISCOURSE OF THE NOVEL “THE WANDERING JEW” BY S. HEYM(2019) Ilinska, N. I.; Bokshan, H. I.; Holyk, S. V.; Keba, O. V.The article deals with the theoretical aspect of the concept of “apocryphal novel”, its difference from other literary transformations of Old Testament and canonical subjects and images. The specificity of the apocryphal discourse, its plot and meaning-forming functions in S. Heym’s novel “The Wandering Jew” are revealed. It is indicated that its components are a modification of the legendary image of Ahasuerus, an apocryphal evangelist in the text of the novel, and a semantically related narrative of the earthly ministry and the sin offering of Jesus. The principles of apocryphization and transcoding of the canonical gospels, as well as other religious and paralegal sources, are analyzed. The conclusions about the anti-dogmatic intentions of the author of the apocryphal novel “The Wandering Jew” are made, which aim at any manifestations of monopoly on truth and utopianism.Item STRATEGIES OF MYTH-MAKING IN THE HISTORICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL DISCOURSE OF THE NOVEL “THE WANDERING JEW” BY S. O.The article deals with the strategies of myth-making in the historical and philosophical discourse of the novel “The Wandering Jew” by S. Heym. The concepts of “myth-making strategies”, “discourse”, and “multi-genre nature” are being clarified. Genre modifications of the historical novel by S. Heym through its comparison with the genre invariant of the traditional historical novel have been revealed. The author’s transformations of the principle of historicism, “Gothic anthropologism”, the myth-making strategies in the interpretation of history have been ascertained. The historical images of Martin Luther and Paul von Eitzen, the postmodern poetics of their artistic realization have been characterized. It is proved that the main myth-making strategy is the demythologization of history as a discourse of power. The features of the genre structure of S. Л.Стаття присвячена дослідженню концептів КІЛЬКІСТЬ і ЯКІСТЬ, виражених стереотипними гіперболами і виділених на основі спільних систематично повторюваних складників, які формують понятійну основу самого концепту. Для опису понятійного складника концепту аналізований концепт зіставляється з іншими, пов'язаними з ним парадигматично і синтагматично в концептосфері англійської мови, що дозволяє спостерігати співвіднесеність різноманітних за структурою гіпербол з тими чи іншими концептами. Методами дослідження є концептуальний та структурносемантичний аналіз. The article is devoted to investigation of the concepts QUANTITY and QUALITY expressed by means of stereotypical hyperboles and singled out due to common constituents that are repeated systematically and form the notional basis of the concept itself. In order to describe the notional constituent of the concept the given concept was contrasted to other concepts that are correlated to it both paradigmatically and syntagmatically in the conceptual sphere of the English language, which allows observing correlation of structurally different hyperboles with a certain concept. The methods of this study are conceptual and structural-semantic analyses. Key words: notion, concept, discourse, hyperbole, stereotype, stereotypical hyperbole, thematic group, conceptual sphere. Статья посвящена исследованию концептов КОЛИЧЕСТВО и КАЧЕСТВО, выраженных стереотипными гиперболами и выделенных на основе общих систематично повторяющихся компонентов, которые формируют понятийную основу самого концепта. Для описания понятийного компонента концепта анализируемый концепт противопоставляется другим, парадигматически и синтагматически связанными с ним в концептосфере английского языка, что позволяет наблюдать соотнесенность разнообразных по структуре гипербол с теми или иными концептами. Виокремленні на основі загальних дидактичних принципів навчання іноземної мови, вони зможуть забезпечити формування дискурсивної компетенції лише у комплексному їх використанні. Статья освещает основне принципы обучения иноязычной дискурсивной компетенции студентов языковых специальностей. Выделенные на основе общих дидактических принципов обучения иностранному языку, они смогут обеспечить формирование дискурсивной компетенции только в комплексном их использовании. The article deals with the main principles of teaching the students of linguistic specialities the foreign discursive competence. Selected on the basis of general didactic principles of teaching the foreign language, they will be able to provide the forming of discursive competence only in their comprehensive use.
