The article deals with the concept "linguistic egocentrism"; the specifics of the development and functioning of "Ego" are clarified; verbal markers of egocentricity in American poetic speech are investigated.

    У статті проаналізовано лексико-семантичні особливості позитивної та негативної оцінки світів першої, другої та третьої особи, визначено їх кількісну релевантність та співвіднесеність проблеми з функціонуванням категорії “свого/чужого” простору в англійському тексті Біблії. The article focuses on lexico-semantic peculiarities of positive and negative evaluation of first, second and third person deixis and their reference to the category of “one’s own/alien” space in the English biblical text.

    СКЛАДОВІ КОНТЕКСТУАЛЬНОСТІ СУЧАСНОГО АНГЛОМОВНОГО ДИСКУРСУ

    У статті розглядаються поняття дискурсивного аналізу, лінгвістичного моделювання, реперспективізації стилістичних прийомів, контекстуальності, дейксис на матеріалі роману Тома Вульфа “Вогонь марнославства”. Автори статті аналізують та наводять приклади переключення контексту, що змінює сприйняття та розуміння дискурсу. The article observes such issues as discourse analysis, linguistic modeling, the reperspectivization of stylistic devises, contextuality, deixis examining the vocabulary and grammar in Tom Wolfe’s novel “Bonfire of the Vanities”. The authors make examples and analyze the switching of the concept that changes the perception and understanding of the text or discourse.
