Item GENDER DIFFERENTIATION OF SELF-REGULATING MENTAL STATES OF ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS(2023) Prokhorenko, L.; Popovych, I. S.; Sokolova, H.; Chumaieva, Yu.; Kosenko, Yu.; Razumovska, T.; Zasenko, V.; Попович, І. С.The purpose is to develop a strategy for empirical research on self-regulating mental states of athletes with disabilities; to identify differences in the structure of self-regulating mental states in the male (Group 1) and female (Group 2) samples. Research methods: psychological content parameters of self-regulation were determined using reliable and valid psycho-diagnostic instruments tested in empirical research on sport psychology. Ranking by a module value of the research parameter (Rg) was applied; factor analysis with the method ANOVA with Varimax rotation was used; correlation between the parameters was determined by means of Spearmen’ coefficient (rs); significant differences were identified with Student’s t-test. Results. The study substantiates a strategy for empirical research on self-regulating mental states of athletes with disabilities. The ranking of the parameters under study by the level of significance of correlations with self-esteem was performed. Significant differences (р>.05) were found by two content parameters of self-regulation: process (t=- 1.2006) and result (t=1.1045). Two graphical factor structures of self-regulating mental states of athletes with disabilities by gender differentiation were created. It was established that the most loaded factors in the male sample (Group 1) are F1 “Value-meaningful” (DG1=22.67%) and F2 “Result-motivated” (DG2=16.23%). It was found that the most loaded factors in the female sample (Group 2) are F1 “Procedural-value” (DG1=23.88%) and F2 “Pragmatically-oriented” (DG2=14.34%). The study substantiates that dominants for athletes with disabilities in Group 1 are meaning-of-life in sporting activities and stable motivation for success. The research emphasizes that a procedural component of sporting activities dominates in female athletes. The smallest number of correlations was registered in Group 1: F4G1 – “Self-worth” and Group 2: F5G2 – “Reflexive”, they are the most independent and dangerous ones. Female athletes with the above dominating mental state are too much focused on their “Ego”, that reduces concentration on training and competition activities. Female athletes with the selfregulating state “Reflexive” spend too much time analyzing their shortcomings, they are too much focused on correction of their mistakes and on an excessively high level of self-criticism that does not contribute to achievement of maximum sport results. Conclusions. The obtained empirical results should be operationalized into tactical preparation for training staff and male and female athletes with disabilities. Differentiation of selfregulating mental states can be a considerable tactical advantage in sporting activities of people with disabilities.Item DOMINATING MENTAL STATES OF THE REPRESENTATIVES OF INDIVIDUAL SPORTS UNDER LOCKDOWN AND MARTIAL LAW: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS(2023) Popovych, I. S.; Koval, I.; Raievska, Ya.; Piletskyi, V.; Buryanovatiy, O.; Hrynchuk, O.; Попович, І. С.The purpose is to compare psychological content parameters of dominating mental states of the representatives of individual sports under forced isolation, caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and martial law. The sample consisted of the Ukrainian sportsmen (n=98), representing such sports as track and field (n=58), weight lifting (n=27) and freestyle wrestling (n=13). Research methods: valid methods with standardized forms for responses, participant observation, ranking, application of reliability coefficients. Results. It was established that there were no significant differences in the comparison of psychological content parameters under lockdown (Group 1) and martial law (Group 2). The ranking method allowed identifying the key measurements correlating with a respondent’s resilience which is a main characteristic in handling difficulties in tough situations. It was established that the ranks are different in the following parameters: “Psychological Well-Being” (PWВ); “General Meaningfulness of an Athlete’s Life” (GMAL) at the level р>.01 and at the level р>.05 in the parameters: “Challenge” (Ch); “Hardiness” (Hr); “Control” (Cn); “Commitment” (Cm). Two factor structures of dominating mental states of the representatives of individual sports under lockdown and martial law were created. It was established that the factor structures have different frameworks and dispersions of scattering in similar mental states. It was determined that lockdown for the representatives of individual sports was less stressful than sporting activities under martial law. It is obvious that permanent involvement in information flows concerning the situation with the military aggression, air-raid warnings, changes in training schedules, finishing performance at the time of air-raid warnings and staying in bomb shelters had a considerable impact on the total index of meaning-of-life orientations, self-regulation processes, involvement and control of the representatives of individual sports. Conclusions. The suggested factor structures of dominating mental states and the identified ranking research parameters are of scientific value and can contribute to efficient tactical training in difficult and extreme conditions.Item INTERDEPENDENCE OF EMOTIONALITY, ANXIETY, AGGRESSIVENESS AND SUBJECTIVE CONTROL IN HANDBALL REFEREES BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF A GAME: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS(2022) Popovych, I. S.; Kurova, A.; Koval, I.; Kazibekova, V.; Maksymov, M.; Huzar, V.; Попович, І. С.; Курова, А. В.; Коваль, І. А.; Казібекова, В. Ф.; Максимов, М. В.; Гузар, В. М.The purpose of the article is to conduct empirical research on interdependence of the key individual psychological characteristics of handball referees before the beginning of a game; perform comparative analysis of the obtained parameters of referees with different categories and identify significant dynamic changes. The study substantiates and characterizes anxiety, aggressiveness and subjective control as important features of referees’ activity, affecting objectivity of results. Research methods: retrospective critical analysis of scientific literature, psycho-diagnostic testing, purposeful observation, comparative analysis using Student’s t-test, Pearson’s R correlation analysis. The study outlines the primary methodological postulates and technology for measuring parameters of the phenomena under study. Results. The study presents a graphical structure of subjective control of handball referees by qualification categories. Pearson’s (r) correlation analysis allowed determining interdependence of the parameters under study. Positive significant correlations were identified: between emotional stability and internality in the area of achievements (r=.286; p≤.01); between emotional stability and internality in labor relations (r=.278; p≤.01). Negative significant correlations were registered: between internality in the area of achievements and the parameters of aggressiveness: between inclination towards direct physical aggression (r=-.185; p≤.05) and the level of impulsiveness (r=-.268; p≤.01); between self-estimation of reactive anxiety and internality in labor relations (r=-.178; p≤.05). The study substantiates that the identified list of significant correlations proves that a respondent’s achievement of a higher level of qualification requires mobilization of their neural and mental efforts, a high level of subjective self-control and self-regulatory capability. Conclusions. The study emphasizes that the identified correlations of the key individual psychological characteristics of handball referees before the beginning of a game are important scientific facts in the context of the research on referees’ activity. It generalizes that the acquired knowledge should be operationalized into professional qualification upgrade programs for training referees in team sports. The study highlights that the obtained scientific facts can be useful for subjects of competition process, researchers in sport psychology.
