Item STRATEGIES OF MYTH-MAKING IN THE HISTORICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL DISCOURSE OF THE NOVEL “THE WANDERING JEW” BY S. HEYM(2019) Ilinska, N. I.; Bokshan, H. I.; Keba, O. V.; Pomohaibo, J. O.The article deals with the strategies of myth-making in the historical and philosophical discourse of the novel “The Wandering Jew” by S. Heym. The concepts of “myth-making strategies”, “discourse”, and “multi-genre nature” are being clarified. Genre modifications of the historical novel by S. Heym through its comparison with the genre invariant of the traditional historical novel have been revealed. The author’s transformations of the principle of historicism, “Gothic anthropologism”, the myth-making strategies in the interpretation of history have been ascertained. The historical images of Martin Luther and Paul von Eitzen, the postmodern poetics of their artistic realization have been characterized. It is proved that the main myth-making strategy is the demythologization of history as a discourse of power. The features of the genre structure of S. Heym’s novel “The Wandering Jew” as a postmodern historical novel have been described.Item STRATEGIES OF MYTH-MAKING IN THE HISTORICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL DISCOURSE OF THE NOVEL “THE WANDERING JEW” BY S. І.; Illyinska, N. І. The article focuses on orthodoxal, secular and dialogical views on the proplem "Christianity and literature". To illustrate the polemics the author analyzes poetological conceptions of representatives of orthodoxal (hieromonk Roman) and dialogical (Y. Kuznetsov) types of religios and poetical consciousness. The comparison made it possible to reveal similar and different features in their solutions of problems of creativity and faith. Both poets use Biblical images as sacral universals, cultural signs and models of creative behaviour. But they differ in their understanding of limits of creative freeedom in interpretation of sacral images and themes.
