    Інтерес до специфіки створення абревіатурних номінацій у різних мовах і до особливостей їх вживання в різних типах і жанрах мови обумовлений тим, що абревіація виявляється одним із словотвірних способів. В англомовній медичній тематиці останнім часом також застосовується велика кількість абревіатур. Скорочення можна зустріти у медичних звітах, протоколах, історіях хвороби та навіть у медійних текстах медичної тематики. У цій статті розглядаються особливості вживання абревіатур у медичних медіа текстах. Interest in the specifics of creating abbreviation nominations in different languages and to the peculiarities of their use in different types and genres of language is due to the fact that the abbreviation is one of the word-formation methods. A large number of abbreviations have been recently used in English-language medical subjects as well. Abbreviations can be found in medical reports, protocols, case histories and even in media texts on medical topics. This article discusses the peculiarities of using abbreviations in medical media texts.
