The article is devoted to the study of linguostylistic devices of creating humorous effect in the texts of modern short story writers Steve Almond, Charles Baxter, Jennifer Egan, to analysis of the cultural component at the lexical level such as attributive word combinations, stable phrases and idioms, nominative lexical items and stereotypical word combinations.
