КОНЦЕПТ TOWN В СУЧАСНИХ АНГЛІЙСЬКОМОВНИХ КІНО ТЕКСТАХ

Abstract
Стаття висвітлює цікаву проблему сучасної
когнітивної лінгвістики, присвячену актуалізації концепту МАЛЕНЬКЕ МІСТЕЧКО у площині англійськомовних
кіно текстів. Ретроспективний аналіз теоретичних доробків вітчизняних та зарубіжних науковців виявив низку
досліджень присвячених розгляду концептів про великі
міста та відсутність розвідок теми TOWN і окреслив перспективи даної розвідки. Доведено, що різні визначення
поняття концепт свідчать про неоднорідність розуміння даного феномена та його трактування. Важливим для
нашої розвідки є розгляд концепту з боку понятійного,
образно-асоціативного та ціннісного його змісту. Визначено номінативне поле концепту TOWN, що містить ближню (мовні одиниці a compactly settled area, village having
a periodic fair or market, territorial and political unit, a place
with many houses, shops) та дальню периферію ( ranch,
farm, city). За таксономією концептів Приходька А. виявлено його характеристику як специфічного, нерегулятивного, непараметричного концепту. Екстраполюючи погляди
науковців Лазебної О., Литовченко І., Пархоменко Н на
способи вербалізації концептів, у статті виявлено мовні
одиниці, що найточніше репрезентують концепт у мові
героїв кіно стрічок (одиниці різних частин мови, пов’язані з основними лексичними засобами номінації концепту,
що відображають його ознаки; контекстуальні синоніми
та оказіональні номінації; стійкі словосполучення, що
містять ключове слово-репрезентант концепту або його
синоніми; метафоричні номінації). Інтерпретаційно-текстовий та концептуальний аналіз мовного матеріалу сучасних англійськомовних кіно текстів уможливив виявлення
номінативних одиниць family, support, home, memories,
great heart, traditions, history, love, life, inspiration, people,
symbol, business cooperation, gossips, beauty and propitiation, help, projects, happiness, які визначають специфіку
осмислення даного концепту саме у площині аналізованих
кіно текстів. This article highlights an interesting problem
of modern cognitive linguistics, dedicated to the actualization
of the concept of TOWN in English-language film texts. The
retrospective analysis of the theoretical works of Ukrainian
and foreign scholars revealed a number of studies devoted to
the concept of CITY and the lack of researches about the concept
of TOWN that outlined the aim of this article. It is proved that
different definitions of the concept indicate the heterogeneity
of the understanding of this phenomenon and its interpretation.
It is important for our investigation to single out the concept
from its nominative, figurative-associative and value content.
The nominative field of the concept of TOWN has been
determined, it contains the co-nuclear area (linguistic units
a compactly settled area, village having a periodic fair or
market, territorial and political unit, a place with many
houses, shops) and periphery (ranch, farm, city). According to
the taxonomy of concepts by A.Prykhodko, its characteristic
is revealed as specific, non regulative concept. Extrapolating
the views of scientists O. Lazebna, I. Lytovchenko,
and N. Parkhomenko on the methods of verbalizing concepts,
the article reveals linguistic units that most accurately
represent the concept in the language of the heroes of the film
(units of different parts of speech related to the main lexical
means of nominating the concept, reflecting its features;
contextual synonyms and occasional nominations; stable
word combinations containing the key word representative
of the concept or its synonyms; metaphorical nominations).
Interpretative-textual and conceptual analysis of the linguistic
material of modern English-language film texts made it possible
to identify nominative units family, support, home, memories,
great heart, traditions, history, love, life, inspiration, people,
symbol, business cooperation, gossips, beauty and propitiation,
help, projects, happiness, which determine the specifics
of understanding this concept particular in the context of these
analyzed film texts.
