У роботі зазначено, що одним із завдань учителя географії спеціальної школи є допомогти учню з інтелектуальними порушеннями визначитись у сфері своїх пізнавальних і життєвих інтересів стосовно довкілля, формуванні ними особистих пріоритетів, адекватних загальнолюдським і суспільно важливим цінностям. Дослідження рівня сформованості навичок роботи з географічною картою у школярів з інтелектуальними порушеннями дають змогу визначити рівень практичної підготовки школярів з порушеннями інтелекту до життя і формування у них життєвих компетентностей.
The paper notes that one of the tasks of a special school geography teacher is to help a student with intellectual disabilities to determine their cognitive and vital interests in relation to the environment, their personal priorities, adequate to universal and socially important values. Studies of the level of formation of skills of working with a map in students with intellectual disabilities make it possible to determine the level of practical preparation of students with intellectual disabilities for life and the formation of their life competencies.
