    Робота присвячена вивченню питання бачення середньовічною Церквою міського простору та розуміння міста загалом визначені провідні риси взаємовідносин Церкви та міста, міського простору. З’ясовано спадковість античного міста та середньовічного міста. Наведено умови усталення, розвитку та поширення християнства в місті. Наведено тези з теоретичного сприйняття міста та ролі Церкви в ньому християнськими апологетами. The work is devoted to the study of the medieval Church's vision of the urban space and the understanding of the city in general, the leading features of the relationship between the Church and the city, urban space are determined. The heredity of the ancient city and the medieval city has been clarified. The conditions for the establishment, development and spread of christianity in the city are given. Theses regarding the theoretical perception of the city and the role of the Church in it by christian apologists are presented.
